Job Description

About the Role

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end. Product Marketing plays a critical role in Google Maps Platform's strategy to provide the best location based services for developers and businesses. You will partner with product, UX, and go-to-market teams to shape the product strategy, goals and positioning for Google Maps Platform and the experience that we want to deliver. You will be responsible for partnering on audience and market research, creating narratives and positioning, crafting and launching adoption and engagement strategies, and more. You will represent our platform to the world and will be positioning technical products and telling stories. You will act as a problem solver who can diagnose complex technical and business issues and find solutions, with technical aptitude and cross-team influence. You will prioritize, manage, and drive multiple projects to completion and communicate effectively to internal and external audiences. Our marketing approach emphasizes understanding the user, connecting technology with user needs, and demonstrating how Google's products solve real-world problems in innovative ways.

  • Collaborate with the production team to publish marketing content.
  • Identify research needs, scope, manage, or guide user research by leveraging internal and external research partners.
  • Learn and become an expert on developer and business audiences and translate insights into messaging, narratives, external communications, and assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 13 years of experience in marketing, working across one or more marketing fields (growth, product marketing, brand marketing, social).
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

Working at Google

Our job is to demonstrate how Google's products solve the world's problems—from the everyday to the epic, from the mundane to the monumental.
