Project Controls - Cost Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provide credible cost forecasting for a portfolio of capital projects, including generating RFQs, accruals, forecast updates, change management, value of work done, cashflows, and latest estimates.
• Provide funding, budget, and cashflow charts for Investment Proposals.
• Drive credible cost forecasts across the site project portfolio.
• Manage capital project costs in alignment with PG-06, including cost engineering and change management.
• Perform project check and control estimates when cost forecast thresholds or project C&P activities require it.
• Align cost estimates and forecasts with project execution and contracting strategies.
• Prepare monthly cost reports including budgets, project change management, commitments, value of work done, accruals, cashflow forecasts, and latest estimates.
• Conduct monthly portfolio cost analysis and reporting for the Site Investment Committee.
• Ensure cost management processes support project C&P RtP activities such as bid analysis and vendor invoicing audits.
• Utilize systems and tools like GSAP, CMT, Track, EcoSys for project cost management.
• Apply standardized work processes for effective cost engineering and portfolio performance control.
• Maintain consistency of project control activities with GSAP and other financial systems.
• Integrate project cost management into turnarounds.
• Maintain adequate project cost controls for the site's engineering business plan, including Capex, Revex, and Demolition.
• Develop Contingency Drawdown plans.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience in project cost management and cost engineering for capital projects.
• Ability to generate and analyze cost forecasts, budgets, and cashflows.
• Familiarity with project control systems and tools such as GSAP, CMT, Track, EcoSys.
• Strong understanding of project cost control processes and change management.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different organizational levels.
• Experience in aligning cost estimates with project strategies and execution plans.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in an industrial or site-based environment.
• Knowledge of bid analysis and vendor invoicing auditing.
• Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
