Job Description

About the Role

The Project Lead oversees the success and operation of contract projects within the PEO MS SG100 program, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and contractual requirements. The role involves managing personnel, coordinating with customers, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert to support efficient and effective project execution in a federal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the success and operation of contract projects.
  • Plan, execute, and manage employees and the success of the projects.
  • Provide contract documents promptly and keep records by the PWS.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all project-related items and issues.
  • Provide direction to the staff and ensure operations are functioning effectively, efficiently, and safely.
  • Conduct random spot-check inspections.
  • Assist the project manager with the day-to-day oversight of mailroom operations and personnel matters.
  • Arrive on time and ready to work the assigned schedule.
  • Ensure work performed meets or exceeds contract requirements.
  • Provide high-level customer service to patrons, coworkers, and other interested parties.
  • Meet with customer contract representatives to discuss work quality issues and complaints.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers, supervisors, and support personnel.
  • Conduct meetings/briefings with management staff as necessary.
  • Coordinate and visit with customers regarding contract operations.
  • Write performance appraisals for supervised employees.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with customers to ensure contract compliance and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance and recommend remedial actions.
  • Resolve routine matters related to packaging and shipping per regulations.
  • Support company vision, values, and quality controls.
  • Complete and submit all monthly reports promptly.
  • Provide on-site leadership and direction of all employees.
  • Ensure all functions are performed correctly and provide on-the-spot corrections.
  • Ensure site-specific security requirements are met.
  • Interact professionally with high-level officials.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer operation.
  • Working knowledge of a Mailroom environment, badge checking, and badging office requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of disability management and awareness.
  • Knowledge of the Ability One federal law.
  • Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating an agency vehicle, have a good driving record, a valid driver's license, and/or required auto insurance.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check.
  • Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality.
  • Adequate spoken communication skills and ability to read, write, and perform mathematics.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers.
  • Strong organizational, project planning, and management skills with proven analytical and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD secret-level clearance.
  • Physical ability to communicate effectively, move safely, lift up to 70 pounds, and work at least 8 hours per day.
  • Emotional capacity to follow through on assignments, analyze variables, make decisions, and maintain confidentiality.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with federal law related to Ability One.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a mailroom or security environment.
  • Experience working with high-level officials and in security-sensitive roles.
