About the Role

Mecho is hiring for a Project Manager based in our Long Island City Corporate Headquarters. Since 1969, Mecho has been a trusted provider of high-quality, innovative solar control products for the architectural and design community. The company is committed to environmentally responsible, human-centric design, energy-saving products, and control systems, offering a range of manual, motorized, automated, and integrated shading systems. The Project Manager will coordinate all aspects of projects, including contract management and technical details, supporting the project lifecycle from design to installation through collaboration with internal departments and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain large projects and manage all phases of multiple releases.
  • Conduct technical review of projects for mechanical, electrical, structural, and solar irradiation control compliance, shop drawing response, and fabrication.
  • Define bill of materials, process material requisitions, and follow through on delivery of materials and completion of shop orders to meet project schedules.
  • Requisition fabric and materials to ensure efficient fabrication and on-time product delivery.
  • Cross-reference field dimensions to approved shop drawings.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities in extrusions, fabric, hardware, etc.
  • Liaise with mechanical & electrical engineering, CAD, production, procurement, order processing, and accounts receivable departments to ensure accurate, timely, and budgeted project completion and billing.
  • Provide downline support and work effectively in a team and fast-paced environment.
  • Offer technical support for dealer networks, architects, general contractors, and third parties.
  • Conduct technical training for internal teams and external dealer networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Mechanical Engineering or Project Management preferred) with 2 years of construction experience, or 4+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Manufacturing or construction background (preferred).
  • Experience delegating, coordinating, and planning.
  • Must be open to occasional travel to client sites.
  • Knowledge of Low Voltage control wiring.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience using video conferencing software and virtual collaboration tools like Zoom, MS Teams, etc.
  • Proficient in Office 365 and MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiar with ERP Systems and SQL Reporting.
  • Solution-oriented, proactive, and able to adapt quickly.
  • Good decision-making and judgment skills.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Confident in presenting to large groups (internal/external).
  • Ability to define and utilize processes in daily work and share best practices.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in manufacturing or construction backgrounds.
  • Experience with product display, merchandising, and customer service policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Project Management (preferred).
  • 2+ years of construction experience or 4+ years of Project Management experience.
