Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and management of a portfolio of projects for one or more companies in the Bay area, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders regarding project status and issues.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for clients to resolve project and operational issues as assigned by the program manager.
  • Perform periodic project and program reviews, making recommendations for improvement and overseeing implementation.
  • Participate in sequencing projects, adjusting timelines, and modifying scope documents to meet objectives.
  • Understand client objectives and align operational support activities accordingly.
  • Facilitate communication with clients and internal stakeholders, maintaining current pulse on client perceptions, needs, and challenges.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and advocate for the client.
  • Monitor and oversee project resources, including JCI and subcontractor resources.
  • Create project documentation such as playbooks, standards, and installation guides.
  • Develop and own project plans and initiate projects.
  • Ensure projects have adequate support and monitor progress against plans.
  • Identify, measure, track, and realize project benefits.
  • Identify and manage project risks.
  • Support and mentor field project managers, installation managers, and technicians.
  • Report project status to the Program Manager and Division Operations Manager.
  • Monitor and control project performance and implement a project controlled environment.
  • Develop and maintain a project scoreboard.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of physical security experience, including interface with general contractors, property managers, and client stakeholders.
  • Experience with low voltage cabling and understanding of installation and service elements of operational performance.
  • Experience with Smartsheet and PlanGrid for maintaining project timelines.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with a minimum of 3 years managing professionals in a construction setting.
  • Understanding of permitting and union complexities.
  • Self-starter with ability to review processes and implement continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and participate in meetings representing Johnson Controls and client Physical Security.
  • Technical expertise or exposure to enterprise-wide access control and video systems.
  • Organizational skills and ability to adjust labor efforts to fluctuating demands.
  • Experience or background in physical security and construction management is desired.
  • Project management certification is desired; if not present, enrollment in certification process is expected.
