About the Role

The position of Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft) Deployable involves designing, implementing, and maintaining a risk-based surveillance program and assessment plan related to the quality assurance provisions of contracts. The role includes analyzing data to identify process improvements, supporting the U.S. Government's acquisition efforts at supplier facilities, ensuring contractor compliance with design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization requirements, and independently auditing contractor processes to verify compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain a risk-based surveillance program and assessment plan associated with contract quality assurance provisions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements by analyzing data.
  • Implement the overall Quality Program for diverse products and services to support the U.S. Government's acquisition at one or more supplier facilities.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization requirements.
  • Independently audit and survey contractor processes to ensure compliance with customer and contractual requirements.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid state driver's license.
  • Security clearance: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access.
  • Ability to obtain a passport/VISA.
  • Pass a medical/dental examination, including a pre-employment exam and annual physicals, with a lifting requirement of 45 pounds.
  • Meet immunization screening requirements (e.g., Anthrax, Smallpox, Malaria, COVID) and medical criteria for deployment.
  • Must be able to possess and maintain a Government Travel Card.
  • Exempt from recall to the military Reserves.
  • Complete a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Have at least one year of specialized experience in applying quality assurance concepts, evaluating contractor processes, and analyzing quality data, or possess relevant education or a combination of education and experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with quality assurance principles, statistical analysis, and inspection of production methods.
  • Knowledge of federal employment regulations and military deployment requirements.
  • Certifications related to DoD Acquisition Engineering & Technical Management.

Qualifications

  • Education from an accredited college or university in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, engineering, physical sciences, or related fields.
  • Unofficial transcripts required if qualifying based on education.
  • Graduate education (e.g., 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours) may be considered as equivalent to one year of full-time study.
  • Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalency.
