About the Role

The Regional Account Manager (Mid-Atlantic, Southeast) at LGC Group holds a pivotal market-facing role responsible for positioning and selling life science products and services across designated geographic regions and market segments within the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast US. The role involves collaboration with clients, internal teams, and management to drive sales, manage accounts, and support business development efforts, primarily in a remote setting with up to 50% travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and qualify a robust pipeline of prospects, supporting marketing strategies and maintaining accurate prospect records.
  • Lead a strategic sales process to manage and achieve new sales results, including networking, developing proposals, negotiating, and contracting.
  • Exhibit strategic selling skills to understand customer requirements and recommend solutions in a consultative manner.
  • Serve as the primary relationship management executive for designated accounts, fostering ongoing communication and cross-selling activities.
  • Build and lead account-specific teams, develop account plans, and conduct review sessions to enhance client satisfaction and revenue.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, client operations, and competitive offerings to effectively position products.
  • Support business development by identifying and evaluating new market opportunities.
  • Provide timely sales and pipeline updates in the CRM system, ensuring accurate reporting and account reviews.
  • Respond flexibly to internal and external business needs and corporate initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in biological or life sciences, business management, or related field.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated sales success within the life sciences industry.
  • Proficiency in managing complex sales processes, including territory planning, prospecting, discovery, analysis, solution design, presentation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel as needed, including internationally.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, verbal, and written abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with CRM software, particularly Salesforce.com.
  • Strong product knowledge in nucleic acid extraction/purification, PCR, qPCR, and NGS workflows.
  • Experience selling into regulated markets such as diagnostic kit manufacturing.
  • Experience managing capital equipment and large opportunities ($100K+).

Qualifications

  • Educational background in biological or life sciences, business management, or related fields.
  • Sales or wet-lab experience in molecular and cell biology preferred.
  • Experience managing both new and established accounts, with competencies in strategic selling and large account management.
