About the Role

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) at Baxter is responsible for providing overall sales leadership within assigned geographical regions, developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans, and building relationships with healthcare providers such as hospitals and IDNs. The role involves representing Baxter's portfolio of products, driving profitable revenue growth, and supporting the sales team to meet regional targets. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive direct support to Account Executives through all stages of a deal, including customer meetings, demonstrations, RFPs, cross-references, and preparation of offers.
  • Develop and communicate quarterly and annual sales strategies and plans for the assigned area to achieve profitable revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and alignment with market trends.
  • Define individual and market-specific sales goals to meet overall regional objectives.
  • Track and report the overall progress of the sales team against targets through weekly, quarterly, and annual sales plans.
  • Support action plans to address key needs, facilitate demand creation activities, and develop service programs to protect and expand the installed base.
  • Effectively present the portfolio and services, articulating the value proposition to customers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with major hospital systems and IDNs.
  • Develop, train, and implement pricing strategies and deal structuring guidance.
  • Monitor project tracking and forecasting via Salesforce weekly.
  • Identify performance improvement targets, track, and measure regional performance.
  • Travel throughout the United States up to 80%, including weekends, to support sales activities and customer engagement.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of both Capital and Clinical sales processes.
  • Proven success in planning, structuring, and closing sales deals.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to empower and inspire employees.
  • Strong presentation skills that resonate with audiences and achieve results.
  • Excellent influencing, persuasion, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to develop strong strategic plans.
  • Interpersonal, decision-making, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience balancing multiple priorities, working independently, and leading initiatives.
  • Skilled in navigating cross-functional teams and projects, overseeing sales activity, and understanding local market and competitive trends.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Salesforce.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to operate a vehicle.
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States up to 80%.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • At least 7 years of sales experience, preferably in the Acute Care/Hospital capital equipment space.
  • Previous experience leading a team is preferred.

Qualifications
