About the Role

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design. The Revenue Accounting team at Canva plays a critical role in managing and navigating the increasing complexities of revenue accounting, systems, and operations within the rapidly growing Enterprise space. The role involves supporting the company's strategic objectives and ensuring a frictionless quote to cash process while delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical revenue accounting guidance as the business grows and adapts to meet the complex needs of enterprise customers.
  • Review enterprise sales contracts and ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Collaborate with the Sales, Deal Desk, Revenue Operations, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate B2B revenue recognition while maintaining a streamlined and scalable process.
  • Manage month-end close for enterprise sales to ensure revenue journal entries are recorded timely and accurately per US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the quote to cash process, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with the SOX lead and Accounting team to document processes and establish key controls within the quote-to-cash cycle to ensure compliance and risk management.
  • Compile and analyze quote-to-cash data, producing regular reports, metrics, and insights for management and relevant partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Deep technical knowledge of revenue recognition based on the requirements of ASC 606 (US GAAP).
  • Proven experience in evaluating multi-element contracts, assessing new product offerings, conducting technical accounting research, and developing accounting policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the capacity to identify issues and implement solutions proactively.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • CPA certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • CPA preferred.
