About the Role

The Sales Account Executive at Lamar Advertising Company is responsible for developing and maintaining advertising relationships within assigned territories, utilizing professional sales techniques to meet and exceed sales objectives. The role involves promoting outdoor advertising campaigns for brands in Oklahoma City, OK, and surrounding areas, and contributing to Lamar's community connections through advertising. Key Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales targets and monitor personal sales data and reports.
  • Target businesses in the assigned area and visit each established Lamar client as well as competitor's clients within a specified time frame.
  • Exhibit working knowledge of local and national competition.
  • Identify potential growth areas and open new accounts.
  • Use Lamar computer tools to locate prospects, follow up on leads, and prepare proposals, written presentations, and research.
  • Develop presentation skills by utilizing computer tools and present to clients regularly.
  • Develop new product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Participate in sales meetings, regional meetings, seminars, and trade shows.
  • Perform administrative duties such as maintaining sales plans, following up on client production orders, and keeping organized records of clients and sales activity.
  • Engage in field work including making sales calls, servicing existing accounts, and traveling less than 10% of the time.

Requirements

  • Current and Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to make cold calls over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to make oral presentations and clearly articulate policies and procedures.
  • Effective time management and self-organization skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Motivation to learn new technology and systems.
  • Willingness to immerse oneself in the outdoor advertising industry and sell its benefits.
  • Resilience in response to rejection.
  • Experience with CRM software preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Previous outdoor advertising sales experience preferred.
  • College Degree preferred.
