About the Role

Explore your next opportunity at a Fortune Global 500 organization. The Account Executive develops and manages a portfolio of customers in B2B and B2C within a specific geographical area. This role is responsible for achieving sales plans by generating profitable revenue growth through new business development and retention of existing accounts. The position involves analyzing customers' supply chain needs to create solutions and respond promptly to requests. The territory primarily covers Des Moines, Marshalltown, and Coralville, IA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains and grows a book of business (e.g., ground, air, international).
  • Introduces new products and services and expands business opportunities within customer accounts.
  • Tracks sales performance to objectives.
  • Monitors account statistics and qualifies internal sales leads to identify opportunities and create an effective sales strategy.
  • Utilizes resources and account history to prepare for sales calls.
  • Submits pricing requests and analyzes price quotes.
  • Develops standard operating procedures (SOPs), generates reports and queries, accesses databases, and interprets data.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of products, services, and customer-facing technology solutions offered by UPS.
  • Describes general customer profiles targeted by the company.
  • Understands industry and financial trends impacting UPS and/or customers' organizations.
  • Possesses basic understanding of competitor's tactics, product/service offerings, and strategies.
  • Works with others to research stakeholders' and decision-makers' needs and requirements.
  • Understands customer's general business needs and account status.
  • Possesses ability to use negotiation techniques in less complex situations.
  • Recognizes customer issues and recommends solutions.
  • Establishes and maintains entry-level contacts in customer organizations.
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of supply chain concepts.
  • Experience with B2B or B2C sales.
  • Willing to travel as required.
  • Experience using Microsoft products.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree).
  • Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate.
  • Prefer a Bachelor's Degree or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, or authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Business to Business or Business to Consumer sales.
  • Basic understanding of supply chain concepts.
  • Knowledge of industry and financial trends impacting UPS and customers.
  • Ability to use negotiation techniques in less complex situations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree).
  • Experience with Microsoft products.
  • Willingness to travel, as required.
