Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains and grows a book of business (e.g., ground, air, international)
  • Introduces new products and services and expands business opportunities within customer accounts
  • Tracks sales performance to objectives
  • Monitors account statistics and qualifies internal sales leads to identify opportunities and create an effective sales strategy
  • Utilizes resources and account history to prepare for sales calls
  • Submits pricing requests and analyzes price quotes
  • Develops standard operating procedures (SOPs), generates reports and queries, accesses databases, and interprets data

Requirements

  • Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate if relocation assistance is not included
  • Experience with Business to Business or Business to Consumer sales
  • Experience using Microsoft products
  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree)
  • Willing to travel, as required
  • Basic understanding of products, services, and customer-facing technology solutions offered by UPS
  • Basic understanding of supply chain concepts
  • Possess negotiation skills in less complex situations
  • Ability to identify customer issues and recommend solutions
  • Establish and maintain entry-level contacts in customer organizations

Nice to Have

  • Describes general customer profiles targeted by the company
  • Understands industry and financial trends impacting UPS and/or customers' organizations
  • Understands competitor's tactics, product/service offerings, and strategies
  • Works with others to research stakeholders' and decision-makers' needs
  • Knows the account status and general business needs of customers

Qualifications

  • Preferably a Bachelor's Degree or internationally comparable degree
  • Current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience (for internal candidates)
