About the Role

The Sales Account Manager at Univar Solutions is responsible for growing the business with new and existing customers by matching customer needs with a broad product portfolio supported by digital tools, technical experts, specialized market expertise, and a global distribution network. The role involves consulting, prospecting, customer service, and portfolio management to drive growth and build strong relationships in the Boston, MA area. Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers by managing and growing accounts.
  • Find new opportunities, win new business, and grow the territory through sales prospecting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver top-tier service, technical support, and safe, innovative solutions to customers.
  • Prioritize selling time and results to effectively manage the sales funnel and territory.
  • Be relentless in winning back lost customers.

Requirements

  • Up to 2 years of sales or customer-facing experience in a similar B2B sales role with a proven track record of building relationships and achieving sales targets.
  • Self-directed, outcome-focused, and able to take initiative and act decisively.
  • Good listener with curiosity and passion for learning about customer needs, solving problems, and winning business.
  • Ability to conduct effective sales calls, make persuasive presentations, handle objections, negotiate, demonstrate value, and close deals.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a similar role within the chemical or ingredients distribution industry.
