About the Role

The Sales Executive, Sales Development role at Kohler Co. involves planning, scheduling, conducting, and evaluating all field sales activities within an assigned territory. The position focuses on owning key decision maker relationships, executing product, channel, and program sales initiatives, and promoting Kohler plumbing products through distributors to builders, plumbers, contractors, and other specifiers. The role supports the company's sales goals and involves working closely with various internal teams and external accounts to increase sales and market presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain regular contact with distributor accounts in the assigned territory to promote Kohler Co. plumbing products in accordance with company goals and policies.
  • Provide guidance and review the activities of distributor sales personnel; offer training and assist in resolving questions or technical issues related to selling efforts.
  • Maintain regular contact with plumbing contractors, general contractors, builders, architects, plumbers, and engineers to inform them of Kohler products and motivate them to specify Kohler products for their customers.
  • Analyze and evaluate sales trends, competition, economic conditions, and account performance; recommend changes to improve sales effectiveness in the territory.
  • Develop annual Distributor Account Plans including marketing, sales, training, showroom, promotional, and advertising strategies.
  • Work in conjunction with Kohler sales team members, including other Sales Executives, Branch Managers, and Business Development Managers.
  • Participate in company sales meetings, trade shows, and industry events to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Manage all channels including distribution within the assigned geography and specific market segments as directed.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and manage pricing programs according to company policies.
  • Conduct account warehouse and on-site inspections; service customer complaints related to product quality, installation, or performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Sales, Business Administration, or Marketing preferred.
  • 0-3 years of sales experience required.
  • Basic skills in written and oral communication with management and outside contacts.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid work mode (remote and on-site).
