Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed Ulta Beauty’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink.
  • Drive company profitability by identifying underperforming metrics and developing strategies that leverage company programs, tools, and resources through operational excellence.
  • Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support store scheduling needs and communicate with the GM to maximize productivity and achieve sales and payroll goals.
  • Plan and execute in-store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience, drive in-store and brand partner collaboration, and meet sales and payroll objectives.
  • Review, analyze, and react to financial and operational reports, including store visit and audit results.
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and enhance guest service.
  • Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
  • Maintain prompt, regular attendance and hold store associates accountable to attendance policies.
  • Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent, and address staffing needs.
  • Build a highly engaged team through effective collaboration, communication, and prioritization.
  • Create an inclusive environment that encourages growth and engagement of associates.
  • Support associate development through training, coaching, performance reviews, and individual development plans.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enable continuous professional development and drive sales performance.
  • Establish professional brand partner relationships to collaboratively deliver sales and service goals.
  • Model a culture of teamwork and guest service excellence while establishing priorities and sharing best practices.
  • Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program to ensure a helpful and friendly guest experience that drives business results.
  • Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Use scheduling and task management tools to prioritize store workload and manage attendance.
  • Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring store standards and operating procedures are met.
  • Support continuous improvement by influencing the adoption of company initiatives and technology.
  • Communicate regularly with field leadership on business trends, operational challenges, and merchandise needs.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of fast-paced retail management or relevant work experience.
  • Proven success in driving top-line sales, interpreting reporting data, managing payroll budgets, and controlling expenses.
  • Experience with monitoring inventory levels, achieving operational excellence, and executing merchandising directives.
  • Leadership experience in attracting, developing, and motivating top talent.
  • Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system, Microsoft Office, Apple devices).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible/adaptable.
  • Work a flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Attend corporate meetings and conferences.
  • Frequent physical activity including bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, lifting up to 25 lbs., and continuous movement throughout the store during shifts.
