Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed Ulta Beauty’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink.
  • Drive company profitability by identifying underperforming metrics and developing strategies that leverage company programs, tools, and resources through operational excellence.
  • Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support store scheduling needs and communicate with the GM to maximize productivity and achieve sales and payroll goals.
  • Plan and execute in-store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience, drive in-store and brand partner collaboration, and meet sales and payroll objectives.
  • Review, analyze, and react to financial and operational reports, including store visit and audit results.
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest service experience.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
  • Maintain prompt, regular attendance and hold store associates accountable to attendance policies.
  • Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent, and address staffing needs.
  • Build an engaged team that embodies the Ulta Beauty brand through collaboration and communication.
  • Create an inclusive environment that encourages associate growth and engagement.
  • Support associate development through training, coaching, performance reviews, and individual development plans.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enable continuous professional development and sales performance.
  • Establish professional relationships with brand partners to collaboratively meet sales and service goals.
  • Model a culture of teamwork and guest service excellence, providing clear direction and sharing best practices.
  • Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program to drive business results and ensure a helpful, friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Use scheduling and task management tools to prioritize workload and manage attendance.
  • Protect company assets and minimize loss through inventory control, safety, and loss prevention measures.
  • Support continuous improvement by influencing the adoption of company initiatives and technology.
  • Communicate regularly with field leadership regarding business trends, operational challenges, and merchandise needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 2-3+ years of fast-paced retail management or relevant work experience.
  • Success in driving top-line sales, interpreting reporting data, managing payroll budgets, and controlling expenses.
  • Proven ability to monitor inventory levels, achieve operational excellence, and execute merchandising directives.
  • Experience in attracting, developing, and motivating top talent, and leading teams through change.
  • Proficient with basic technology (e.g., POS systems, Microsoft Office, Apple devices).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible/adaptable.
  • Willingness to work a flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as frequent bending, lifting up to 25 lbs., and continuous mobility throughout the store.

Qualifications

  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3+ years in retail management or relevant field.
