About the Role

The Sales Manager, Mid-Market (Cox Business) at Cox Communications is a results-driven leadership role responsible for leading a team of hybrid sellers to drive revenue growth and expand the customer base across the nation. The role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance sales performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Leading a team to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Accurately forecasting sales for strategic planning purposes.
  • Monitoring and analyzing sales performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Onboarding new sales representatives and providing ongoing coaching to both new and experienced sellers.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert or advisor and handling issues escalated by team members.
  • Remaining up to date on Cox's products and services.
  • Representing Cox in the local community and networking through events and councils.
  • Collaborating with marketing, inside sales, customer service, and other internal partners.
  • Generating creative ideas and partnerships to drive business growth.
  • Leading sales team meetings and sharing best practices throughout the region.
  • Traveling up to 25% to build new relationships and nurture existing ones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field.
  • Or a master's degree with 4 years' experience.
  • Or a Ph.D. with 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Or 10 years' experience in a related field.
  • At least 1+ year of management or lead role experience.
  • 5 years of experience in business-to-business consultative sales.
  • Experience using Windows-based PCs and Microsoft Office.
  • A valid driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.

Nice to Have

  • 2+ years of experience in a management role.
  • 3+ years of experience in communications sales.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience compiling, preparing, and submitting bid responses to RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs.
  • Knowledge of the local market.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), Hosted Exchange services, Unified Security Management services, and Microsoft Office 365 services.

  • Educational background as specified in requirements (Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D.).
  • Experience in sales leadership and management roles.
  • Proven track record in sales, especially in B2B and telecommunications sectors.
