About the Role

The Sales Manager - Ruminants at ADM Animal Nutrition is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with strategic accounts, including ruminant producers and regional feed companies across the U.S. The role involves developing account management strategies, driving revenue, and collaborating with various teams to meet sales and profit goals. ADM Animal Nutrition is a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company, a leading provider of innovative products in the animal nutrition market, committed to sustainability and customer success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with strategic accounts, including ruminant producers and regional feed companies across the U.S.
  • Create account management strategies and develop ways to improve customer experience and build brand loyalty.
  • Prospect and qualify new sales leads.
  • Partner with Product Management and Technical Services Teams to relay market trends, needs, and requirements.
  • Drive revenue, adoption, and capture market share.
  • Collaborate with sales and technical service teams to ensure requirements such as sales numbers and profit goals are met.
  • Build positive interactions and relationships with sales representatives, team leaders, managers, and executives to evaluate sales strategy and results.
  • Track all sales activities in the CRM system and keep account information current.
  • Monitor and report feed ingredient pricing and industry trends.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects and ongoing relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Identify potential accounts and analyze financial goals and opportunities.
  • Work closely with customer service professionals to efficiently service customer needs.
  • Create and deliver presentations on company products to meet customer objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with 7+ years of knowledge in animal nutrition (ruminants).
  • Proven experience as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, or Technical Sales Manager.
  • Experience in implementing business development strategies.
  • Ability to solve problems and build strong relationships with key customers.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and sales skills around specialty additives.
  • Training on and mastering new specialty additive technologies.
  • Willingness to travel 40-60% of the time.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with feed industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of experience in animal nutrition or related sales roles.
