About the Role

The Senior Account Manager is responsible for delivering comprehensive management services to a portfolio of captive insurance companies. This role operates under general direction and focuses on financial statement preparation and review, regulatory compliance, and client relationship management. The position plays a key part in supporting strategic initiatives, ensuring adherence to accounting practices, and maintaining effective communication with clients, regulators, and service providers. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in accounting and captive insurance, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex issues and client needs with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure strong relationships with clients, regulators, captive directors, and key service providers.
  • Focus on financial statement review and/or preparation.
  • Work as part of the Client Service Team and interact with clients, prospects, regulators, and external service providers.
  • Act as an insurance liaison with insurance brokers and reinsurance brokers as required.
  • Assist with underwriting documentation and decisions in conjunction with the Client Service Team and Practice Underwriting resources.
  • Monitor exposures and risk transfer pricing within the assigned portfolio.
  • Obtain regulatory approval for changes to the business plan.
  • Obtain Board approval for underwriting decisions.
  • Account for premiums and ensure reserving methodology is appropriate.
  • Produce management financial statements, statutory accounts, budgets, cash flow statements, and other financial information.
  • Assist with the adoption of appropriate accounting practices and ensure adherence.
  • Manage or supervise cash requirements of the companies.
  • Liaise with investment managers regarding invested funds.
  • Coordinate board meetings, ensure timely production of board papers and minutes, and review prior to distribution.
  • Ensure relevant company secretarial functions are performed timely and compliance with corporate governance.
  • Support strategic and operational issues, and assist in implementing policies.
  • Maintain contact with client directors and keep practice leadership informed of client developments.
  • Entertain clients and prospects as required.
  • Support senior management with board insight and thought leadership.
  • Adhere to internal control procedures and the WTW code of conduct.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience, or CPA qualification.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of captive insurance and the insurance industry, including accounting for captives, insurance products, and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of Willis Towers Watson platforms and structure.
  • Ability to monitor quality control.
  • Client relationship skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Board meeting presentation skills.
  • Working toward leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to solve complex issues and raise highly complex issues to higher levels.

Qualifications

  • Base salary range of $80,000.00-$130,000.00 USD annually.
