Senior Analyst, Customer Energy Management Job Details | National Grid

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develops an understanding of C&I customer needs and priorities, including differences that may exist among segments of customers.
• Conduct research and analysis on economic, technical, and customer data and conditions.
• Design creative solutions that support both near-term adoption of energy efficiency and electrification measures and long-term transformation of the building energy industry, with a focus on electrification of HVAC, hot water systems, and industrial processes.
• Actively position future integrated energy services linked to energy efficiency programs and services to support National Grid's program targets and climate change objectives.
• Partner with internal teams, vendor partners, and other program administrators to evolve the portfolio of customer energy management solutions, achieve alignment, and improve internal processes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders involved in policy and regulatory processes, and act as a representative for National Grid at regulatory meetings.
• Provide analytical support for negotiating portfolio targets and funding levels with stakeholders.
• Support the regulatory approval process through analytical and research support, and ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates.
• Assist in optimizing commercial product and service development to meet regulatory requirements and support shareholder incentives.
• Evaluate programmatic and technology-based alternatives to identify impacts on energy efficiency results and develop state energy policies.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in public policy, business, political science, environmental or mechanical/energy systems, or engineering related area and 3+ years of related experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of the electric and gas industry; energy efficiency programs; and local and national energy policy.
• 3+ years of energy efficiency evaluation, design, or energy industry related analytical and/or regulatory work.
• Experience with project management.
• Knowledge of National Grid’s business operations, policies, and practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of procedural, distributional, structural, and transgenerational equity as they relate to energy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in energy efficiency evaluation, design, or related analytical work.
