Senior Analyst, Formulations & Technical Support - Schenectady, NY/Ontario, CA

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provides technical support and expertise for developed premixes to customers and Account Managers, including advising on production selection, overages, application troubleshooting, and Premix Formulation Development.
• Communicates completed premix formulations to the sales department to enable costing of finished premixes.
• Assists Marketing with the development of concepts involving premixes to be presented to external customers, ensuring concepts are within the company's capabilities.
• Ensures all relevant information is documented accurately, completely, and clearly in formulation and CRM systems.
• Works with internal and external auditors when necessary.
• Collaborates with Application Labs to troubleshoot customer premix problems and identify new applications.
• Evaluates application-specific performance studies of new ingredients.
• Creates, develops, and prepares SOPs for current and new processes for the team.
• Performs secondary and final reviews on new premixes prior to commercialization.
• Supports paper premix transfer to product commercialization through collaboration with Quality, Operations, and Technical teams.

Requirements

• A.S. degree in a scientific discipline; Bachelor's degree preferred, in food science, chemistry, pharmacy, or chemical engineering.
• Minimum of 8+ years of industry experience in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of food & beverage and dietary supplement industry market segments, including manufacturing processes and requirements.
• Knowledge of nutritional ingredients such as vitamins, carotenoids, omega-3s, including their functions, forms, and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
• Familiarity with statistical/trend analysis tools and other computer skills.
• Ability to perform calculations related to product development and complaints.

Nice to Have

• Experience with food science, chemistry, pharmacy, or chemical engineering beyond minimum requirements.
• Additional technical skills or certifications relevant to formulation or product development.

Qualifications

• A.S. degree (Bachelor's preferred) in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 8+ years of industry experience in a relevant field.
