About the Role

Amazon Advertising is one of Amazon's fastest growing and most profitable businesses, responsible for defining and delivering a collection of advertising products that drive discovery and sales. The Senior Applied Scientist will work within the Agentic Advertiser Guidance team to develop personalized, context-aware guidance systems using large language models, ML, and optimization algorithms, supporting advertisers in creating and managing ad campaigns to meet their needs and enhance the shopper experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead business, science and engineering strategy and roadmap for Sponsored Products Agentic Advertiser Guidance.
Drive alignment across teams for science, engineering, and product strategy to achieve business goals.
Lead/guide scientists and engineers across teams to develop, test, launch and improve science models designed to optimize the shopper experience and deliver long term value for Amazon and advertisers.
Develop state of the art experimental approaches and ML models.

Requirements

3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience.
PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.

Nice to Have

Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.

Qualifications

Educational background with a PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field.
Experience in applied research and building ML models for business applications.
