About the Role

Amazon Advertising is one of Amazon's fastest growing and most profitable businesses, responsible for defining and delivering a collection of advertising products that drive discovery and sales. The Senior Applied Scientist role focuses on building and leading scientific efforts within the Agentic Advertiser Guidance team, which aims to create personalized, context-aware guidance for advertisers using advanced ML models, LLMs, and tools to enhance ad campaign management and support across the ad console and related platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Lead business, science, and engineering strategy and roadmap for Sponsored Products Agentic Advertiser Guidance.
Drive alignment across teams for science, engineering, and product strategy to achieve business goals.
Lead and guide scientists and engineers across teams to develop, test, launch, and improve science models designed to optimize the shopper experience and deliver long-term value for Amazon and advertisers.
Develop state-of-the-art experimental approaches and machine learning models.

Requirements

3+ years of building machine learning models for business applications.
PhD, or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages.
Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.

Nice to Have

Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy.
Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark.

Qualifications

Formal educational background including a PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field.
Hands-on experience in building ML-based solutions and conducting applied research.
