About the Role

The Senior Category Development Manager (Sr. CDM) at Kimberly-Clark is responsible for developing and implementing category-growth programs, leading cross-functional partnerships, and leveraging data and insights to develop comprehensive category strategies. This role supports the Adult and Feminine Care business unit, which includes brands like Depend, Poise, and U by Kotex. The position is based at the Chicago Commercial Center in Fulton Market, Chicago, and involves working to deliver better care for billions of people worldwide by driving category share gains and insights leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category-growth programs and stories to drive business success.
  • Lead cross-functional partnerships to embed Category perspective across the business.
  • Leverage syndicated data, shopper and consumer insights, and industry trends to develop category strategies.
  • Translate complex metrics and analytics into strategic insights and category stories.
  • Perform proactive analysis across various data sources and make fact-based, actionable recommendations.
  • Lead control store testing work with outside vendors and customer teams.
  • Develop shelving principles by channel to optimize shelf placement, assortment, and merchandising flows.
  • Act as an expert and champion the use of category tools and resources.
  • Collaborate with the Shopper Insights team to understand shopper behavior and build growth roadmaps.
  • Manage flow of information and requests from senior management, customer development, and business units.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in CPG/FMCG, including roles in Category Management, Shopper Insights, or Sales.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Category Management philosophies, tools, and processes, including Nielsen, Circana, Panel, Loyalty Card, Spectra, Numerator Promotions, and JDA.
  • Strong competencies in building effective stories, business planning, analytics, persuasive selling, leveraging marketplace dynamics, internal organization navigation, customer strategy development, and leading change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to large audiences.
  • In-office presence of 2 days/week and willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with JDA and other assortment or planogramming software.
  • Experience working in adult and feminine care categories.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (emphasis in business/marketing or related field); master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in CPG/FMCG roles related to category management or insights.
