Senior Consumer Product Marketing Manager at Upside is a strategic and analytical role sitting at the intersection of product, growth, and marketing. The role involves leading go-to-market strategies that drive awareness, adoption, and user engagement across the customer journey. It requires connecting features and use cases to tangible consumer value in a fast-paced, data-rich environment. The position reports to the VP of Consumer Product Marketing and offers a flexible location with some in-office requirements in select metropolitan regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution for product and feature launches, including messaging, positioning, campaign rollout with channel partners, and performance tracking.
  • Ensure go-to-market strategies are aligned with business objectives, delivering clear actions to users and differentiating the product in a competitive fintech and rewards market.
  • Craft compelling messaging for outbound channels that clearly communicate the app's value to target segments, utilizing AI tools for personalization.
  • Map customer insights and usage data to refine positioning and identify opportunities across all touchpoints to drive activation, engagement, and retention.
  • Partner with product teams to define marketing strategies that increase user engagement and retention, setting up briefs for growth, CRM, and paid teams.
  • Identify and prioritize new opportunities, features, and communication options to increase app stickiness and re-engage lapsed users based on behavioral data and experimentation.
  • Analyze user behavior, market trends, and competitive activity to inform product positioning and campaign strategies, collaborating with research and design teams.
  • Leverage tools like Mixpanel, Fullstory, and Looker to run A/B tests, build hypotheses, and optimize key moments in the user journey.
  • Track campaign and product launch performance, identify areas for improvement, and iterate accordingly.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of in-house experience in consumer product marketing, preferably in a fintech or financial services app environment.
  • A strategic, metrics-driven mindset with the ability to work with data to identify insights and drive decisions to meet KPIs.
  • Strong outbound product marketing management experience, including ownership of go-to-market strategies for feature launches and integrated campaigns.
  • Proven ability to increase engagement, retention, and acquisition through creative and breakthrough marketing strategies.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills and experience working with product, data, growth marketing, and creative teams.
  • A proactive, highly organized, and meticulous approach to briefs, with curiosity and a growth mindset.
  • Familiarity with marketing and analytics tools such as Mixpanel, FullStory, Looker, and Google Analytics.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on consumer fintech apps, especially in high-growth environments.
  • Proven success with creative marketing strategies for product launches.
  • Comfort with marketing automation tools and growth experimentation frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.

Benefits & Perks

  • Equity (ISOs) and 401(k) program.
  • Family planning programs and paid parental leave.
  • Physical fitness and wellness memberships.
  • Emotional and mental health support programs.
  • Unlimited PTO plus 10 paid federal holidays and an annual week-long Winter Break.
  • Flexible work environment.
  • Lunch reimbursement for in-office employees.
  • Employee Resource Groups and Learning & Development stipend.
  • Transparent culture and a mission-driven organization.
