Job Description

About the Role

As a Copywriter for Acquisition Marketing at Walmart Marketplace, you'll conceptualize and write compelling copy to engage our community of sellers. You will focus on benefit- and feature-driven messaging, supporting top-of-funnel and awareness initiatives to drive Marketplace growth through creative content that inspires prospective sellers to take action. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams within the ECM Creative Brand Studio to translate business objectives into effective marketing messages that build brand trust, generate leads, and enhance Walmart Marketplace's presence across various channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft persuasive copy that builds brand awareness, drives seller acquisition, and supports paid and partner strategies.
  • Collaborate with designers, strategists, and cross-functional teams to bring ideas to life in a variety of formats.
  • Enhance brand consistency across all top-of-funnel channels and campaigns.
  • Support the evolution of our voice and tone as our seller audience grows.
  • Measure and optimize copy effectiveness to improve engagement and conversion.

Requirements

  • Versatile writing skills with an inquisitive mind, capable of distilling high-level concepts into simple, clear, and engaging copy.
  • Fluency in brand storytelling and top-of-funnel marketing across digital and experiential touchpoints.
  • Highly detailed and collaborative creative thinking, with a passion for communication, branding, and writing.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects, changing gears quickly as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, Advertising, or related field and 2 years of experience in copywriting OR 4 years of experience in copywriting.

Nice to Have

  • Experience writing for eCommerce, B2B, or other marketplaces.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to create compelling and engaging content across various formats (e.g., emails, social media, blogs, case studies, etc.).
  • Experience working collaboratively with project stakeholders and designers.
  • Copywriting for online brand initiatives.
  • Copywriting in an online creative or related digital field.
  • Copywriting in a retail environment.
  • Developing copy concepts in a retail or marketing environment.
  • Working for or with creative agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, Advertising, or related field and 2 years of experience in copywriting.
  • OR 4 years of experience in copywriting.
