Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Data Quality Assurance Engineer at Great American Insurance Group will work within the P&C IT Services team, performing testing and quality assurance activities related to data management, ETL processes, and data warehouse validation. The role involves collaborating in a hybrid work environment out of Cincinnati, contributing to technology solutions that enhance efficiency and competitiveness, and supporting the company's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs moderately complex test case/procedure development, test management functions and tasks.
  • Performs moderately complex analysis of requirements, test coverage and impact of proposed requirements changes.
  • Conducts peer reviews of test artifacts.
  • Performs work under moderate supervision.
  • May serve as an agile development team member, creating and testing the product increment.

Requirements

  • 3 to 6+ years of experience in ETL testing and BI testing.
  • Experience in creating and analyzing simple to complex SQL queries.
  • Ability to create, design, and execute test plans and test cases covering ETL processes and Data Warehouse validation.
  • Knowledge of database objects and relational data models.
  • Good understanding of various database technologies such as DB2, Teradata, Oracle 10g/11g, SQL Server, Big Data/Hadoop.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based testing environments like MS Azure, IICS, Snowflake.
  • Exposure to Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, Hive, Toad Data Point, etc.
  • Experience with data automation validation tools like Informatica DVO, Katalon, etc.
  • Data automation using Python is a plus.
  • Experience in executing Functional, Regression, Integration, and E2E testing.
  • Good understanding of the agile testing process, test strategy planning, and implementation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment.

  • Knowledge of the Insurance Domain.
