About the Role

The Senior Event Sales Manager at Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle's Southport is responsible for selling and servicing a variety of events including Corporate Events, Association Events, Galas, Holiday Parties, and Weddings. Located on the shores of Lake Washington, the hotel combines natural beauty with modern amenities and offers a supportive environment focused on providing exceptional service and meaningful experiences for guests. The role involves collaboration with hotel departments to ensure high-quality event execution and leadership within the sales and events team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell and service events such as Corporate Events, Association Events, Galas, Holiday Parties, and Weddings, focusing on Banquet Food, Beverage, and Meeting Room Rental.
  • Participate in menu planning, agenda setting, and coordinating hotel meeting services.
  • Effectively sell hotel services proactively and reactively to secure client commitments.
  • Communicate with clients and hotel staff before, during, and after events to ensure all needs are met, including food, beverage, set-up, A/V, room blocks, billing, and final review.
  • Manage room blocks, pick-up, billing instructions, and ensure a high level of service during events.
  • Serve as the on-site contact for events, ensuring smooth execution of groups and functions.
  • Lead, support, and participate in initiatives within the Sales and Events team, including training and mentoring Event Managers and Trainees.
  • Lead event meetings and staff meetings as needed, working closely with support staff and taking on additional leadership projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hotel event sales and planning experience.
  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Preferably possess selling, negotiating, business writing, and presentation skills training.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hotel event sales and planning experience.
