About the Role

Walmart+ is a membership program that offers in-store and digital benefits such as free delivery, free shipping, video streaming, fuel discounts, and more. The Distribution Partnerships team is responsible for driving membership growth and retention by building relationships with major third-party companies across various industries. The Senior Manager, Business Development - Distribution Partnerships, will focus on outreach, negotiation, and management of strategic partnerships to enhance access and benefits for Walmart+ members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a pipeline of new distribution partnerships for Walmart+ by identifying opportunities across a wide array of industries and leading strategic discussions with prospective companies
  • Evaluate opportunities by creating business cases based on financial sizing, project feasibility, and alignment with business strategy and plan
  • Lead contractual negotiations with strategic partners by formulating compelling data-based insights/arguments to drive win-win outcomes for Walmart+ and partners
  • Own the relationship with existing strategic partners, nurturing positive relationships and serving as the subject-matter expert and advocate to garner internal support and prioritization
  • Develop a multi-year strategic growth plan for each partnership to accelerate customer acquisition and engagement for Walmart+
  • Create and lead presentations to partners and senior leadership
  • Orchestrate successful delivery of initiatives through collaboration with cross-functional teams including Legal, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and others
  • Define and analyze business metrics and member behavior to ensure KPIs are achieved
  • Be the point of contact and leader for resolving complex partner escalations across different categories

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or related field and 3 years' experience in business development, market development, product development, or relevant area OR 5 years' experience in business development, market development, product development, or related area
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Relationship Management and Business Development experience
  • Problem structuring and solving skills
  • Business intuition and analytical skills to turn data and customer insights into actionable results
  • Ability to structure, negotiate, and implement complex business deals
  • Ability to collaborate with Legal on writing and reading legal/business terms
  • Working knowledge of Product integrations associated with offer sign-up user experience
  • Familiarity with the marketing of loyalty/offer programs
  • Project and stakeholder management skills
  • Personal traits including professionalism, judgment, discretion, relationship-building, collaboration, proactivity, solutions orientation, curiosity, organization, and adaptability

Nice to Have

  • Experience in sales
  • Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or related field
