About the Role

The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist role at Optum involves providing CMS beneficiary member communications support within the Government Programs Operations Department. The position focuses on managing and overseeing member communications, ensuring timely and accurate delivery, and supporting Medicare Part D operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and track member communications to ensure all materials are created, approved, finalized, and implemented timely.
  • Proofread client-specific member letters to ensure correct data is populated based on final approved documents.
  • Facilitate updates to all communications throughout the yearly readiness cycle.
  • Attend conference calls with clients, Account Management, and vendors as needed.
  • Assist with new client implementations.
  • Act as primary liaison to account management for ad hoc communications and updates.
  • Support Medicare Prescription Payment plan communications as a backup.
  • Support special projects and other Government Program processes during non-peak seasons.
  • Promote and ensure client satisfaction via timely and accurate responses, clear communication, and ongoing training of Account Management staff regarding CMS guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide service and analysis to support operations and business objectives of the Medicare Part D Member Communications Department.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with Medicare Part D operations including an understanding of regulatory guidance.
  • 1+ years of experience in compiling and editing documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Cross-collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • 3+ years of experience within the PBM industry.
  • 1+ years of project management or account management experience.
  • Experience and demonstrated familiarity with Employee Group Waiver plans.
  • Experience gathering and documenting customer requirements to support client and CMS expectations.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work under tight time frames and think outside the box with emphasis on quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member.
