About the Role

The Senior Marketing Strategy & Operations Manager role at Fivetran is based in Oakland, California, and involves leading go-to-market planning, execution, and cross-functional marketing operations. The position sits at the core of how campaigns, launches, and programs are brought to life, working directly with senior marketing leadership to turn strategic vision into actionable initiatives. The role offers a hybrid work model with two in-office days per week, supporting a culture of experimentation, measurement, and operational rigor within a high-performing marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead GTM Planning and Execution: Design and manage GTM operating cadences, including planning cycles, launch execution, and retrospectives. Ensure clarity of priorities, deliverables, and timelines across Product Marketing, Demand Gen, Sales, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as a central strategy & operations leader, ensuring that cross-functional contributors—from Content and Brand to Product and Sales Enablement—are aligned, informed, and executing to plan.
  • Own High-Impact Programs: Lead the program management of key launches, strategic events (e.g., Snowflake Summit), brand campaigns, and special projects that require tight coordination, crisp execution, and measurable outcomes.
  • Track Progress and Performance: Establish clear milestones and success metrics for launches and marketing programs. Monitor execution and report regularly on performance to senior leadership, surfacing insights, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Improve Team Effectiveness: Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency across the Marketing team. Optimize tools, meeting structures, templates, and documentation to support collaboration and clarity.
  • Support Marketing Leadership: Partner closely with the CMO and VP-level leaders on ad hoc strategic initiatives, board/investor meeting prep, and key internal communications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of strategy & operations experience, ideally within B2B SaaS or data/analytics environments.
  • Demonstrated experience running cross-functional product or campaign launches with clear results.
  • Operationally minded: You're structured, organized, and think in frameworks—but know how to flex as priorities evolve.
  • Clear communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information for both executive and IC audiences.
  • Marketing-savvy: Familiarity with modern marketing practices across brand, digital, content, product marketing, and sales enablement.
  • Data fluent: Comfortable with using performance metrics, pipeline data, and testing results to guide programs.
  • Self-directed and accountable: You take ownership and drive momentum even when you don't have all the answers.
  • Experience with tools such as Asana, Jira, Airtable, or equivalent project management and collaboration platforms.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in the data integration or cloud analytics space.
  • Familiarity with the tools and metrics used by growth marketing, demand gen, and sales teams.
  • Strong POV on how to run effective meetings, drive accountability, and communicate status updates.
