About the Role

Senior Product Marketing Manager at DigitalOcean in Austin. The role involves defining how to communicate the value of DigitalOcean's platform and products to growing businesses relying on cloud computing services. The candidate will own messaging, positioning, and develop marketing programs to accelerate product usage and revenue, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as product management, sales, marketing, and developer relations. Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully take to market key products aligned to the key developer products like Kubernetes and Application Platform.
  • Work with product teams to support service launches by distilling key functionality and benefits into crisp product marketing messages targeting technical personas.
  • Develop product messaging, positioning, and detailed launch execution plans for successful GTM.
  • Work closely with Growth and Product teams to define programs (cross-sell / up-sell) which will drive meaningful product adoption.
  • Collaborate with revenue organization to help sales and solution architects understand the value proposition and how to sell these products.
  • Create enablement assets to serve sales, demand generation, and partner channels.
  • Apply understanding of cloud infrastructure pricing and packaging to optimize product pricing tiers.
  • Implement creative tactics for enhanced product launch traction.
  • Determine the types of business customers and use cases best served by DigitalOcean products.
  • Continuously test and refine messaging via web updates, landing pages, and targeted email campaigns.
  • Craft a cloud platform narrative that includes developers and business customers, highlighting how DigitalOcean helps them.
  • Create compelling content for product pages, blogs, emails, social media, and press releases.
  • Serve as the go-to person for all things related to the product and platform narrative, including events, keynotes, and customer/partner engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics; MBA is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical product marketing or product management.
  • Experience in Kubernetes and developer platform products is preferred.
  • Understanding of the cloud landscape and ability to position products for business use cases.
  • Research-oriented and analytical mindset that uses data to inform decisions and tactics.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a track record of navigating complex cross-functional environments.
  • Ability to interact with executives, influence outcomes, and share insights effectively.
  • Excellent storytelling and writing skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Kubernetes and developer platform products.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure pricing and packaging methodology.
  • MBA degree.

Qualifications
