Senior Project Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assisting in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
• Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client's satisfaction, including leading client contract scoping and negotiations.
• Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specifications, and production for assigned projects.
• Implements the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project and leads the development and execution of the project management plan.
• Supervises and mentors project team members to achieve overall project objectives.
• Responsible for project staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, and succession planning, as well as supporting performance and compensation reviews.
• Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for mega and super mega projects.
• Prepares proposal and presentation materials, leads proposal development, and conducts interview presentations for strategic projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience.
• 4 years of successful management of engineering projects.
• Experience delivering multi-disciplined or large/complex projects on time, on budget, with quality, and client satisfaction.
• Ability to identify and handle risk and change management independently.
• Experience leading large teams including sub-consultants.
• Proficiency with system tools to manage, monitor, and deliver complex projects.
• Experience deploying sophisticated project delivery processes and serving as the lead interface with clients.

Nice to Have

• Master's degree in Engineering.
• 15 years relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 12 years of relevant experience.
• 4 years of project management experience.
