About the Role

The Senior QA Automation Engineer, BestX, Officer at State Street is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional agile teams to understand project requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and test cases. This role is part of the Global Technology Services (GTS) function, which is vital to State Street's digital transformation and business expansion using advanced technologies such as cloud, AI, and RPA. Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to understand project requirements and user stories and translate them into comprehensive test plans and test cases.
Conduct manual and automated testing of AWS-based applications using Java, Cucumber, and Selenium.
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to ensure efficient regression testing and maximum test coverage.
Execute performance testing to evaluate system scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
Work closely with developers and product owners to identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects, and ensure timely resolution.
Perform backend testing by designing and executing SQL queries to validate data integrity and ensure ETL processes function as expected.
Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Continuously improve the QA process by identifying areas for automation, enhancing test coverage, and implementing best practices.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional growth and development.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies related to software testing and quality assurance.

Requirements

Hands-on implementation of Automation framework (preferably BDD Cucumber) along with different Automation framework architecture.
Knowledge of different QA processes and methodologies to identify the best approach suited to project needs.
Experience with SQL queries, capable of writing medium to complex queries based on requirements.
Good knowledge of core Java, OOPS concepts, Selenium, and Test Automation Framework development.
Excellent understanding of testing methodologies, QA terminologies, and processes.
Ability to work independently and assist team members, with strong communication, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Strong organizational skills, team-oriented attitude, and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, and hands-on experience with Snowflake data warehouse.
Experience with other Automation Test tools like UFT/Tosca.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Relevant certifications such as ISTQB Certified Tester.
