About the Role

Our Technology team has 6 different departments: Information Security, Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, eCommerce & Marketing Technology, Data and Stores, Services & Supply Chain. Whether it's online or in our stores, the work that the IT team does is instrumental in PetSmart's success. We have a strategic and actionable plan underway and are looking for associates who are just as excited about it as we are. This role is based at PetSmart's Phoenix Home Office, where associates currently enjoy the benefits of in-person collaboration while having the flexibility to work remotely one day per week, with an expected four days in the office. The position involves working in a collaborative and flexible environment to ensure quality software solutions for PetSmart.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and design comprehensive test plans, test scenarios and test cases.
  • Conduct thorough functional testing to confirm software functionality, identify defects, and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Investigate and report defects, track issues, and work closely with developers to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Work with product stakeholders to identify and prioritize tests that could be automated to drive efficiency.
  • Develop new automated test cases and enhance current test suite as new functionality is built.
  • Run automated test suite and report the testing results to the stakeholders.
  • Support Production deployments and critical manual and automated smoke testing.
  • Ensure that automated test code adheres to PetSmart standards and participate in automation strategy and optimization efforts.
  • Be self-motivated and disciplined to meet deadlines with speed, accuracy, and professional attitude.
  • Maintain excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Apply excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team player and resolve conflicts constructively.

Requirements

  • Experience in Retail, or E-Commerce domain.
  • Experience with RESTful web service APIs.
  • Experience testing on real devices and simulators like BrowserStack.
  • Expertise in automating web and mobile applications across multiple devices and platforms using test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JMeter).
  • Code analysis and review experience for QA automation code.
  • Experience with test management tools such as QTest or HP ALM suite.
  • Experience working with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools like CloudBees (Jenkins).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language for automation, preferably Java.

Nice to Have

  • APIs and web application performance testing experience.
  • Knowledge of additional languages such as Python or Groovy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience writing test code in multiple languages (Java, Python).
  • Expertise in automating web and mobile applications across multiple devices and platforms using test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, and JUnit/NUnit.
  • Solid understanding of software testing practices and agile development.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic.
  • Effective communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
