About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Create a strategy for Technical SEO for Chewy in multiple countries and languages.
• Set goals, develop a Technical SEO roadmap, and execute through dedicated engineering resources and partner teams.
• Build and execute an SEO A/B testing roadmap to improve SEO performance and understanding of levers to pull.
• Advise product and engineering teams to incorporate Technical SEO requirements into new features.
• Develop and evangelize a Technical SEO playbook across product and engineering teams.
• Guide Engineering teams to build automated testing for core SEO functionality.
• Conduct log file analysis to understand search engine crawling behavior and partner with relevant teams to improve crawlability.
• Develop and implement a scalable internal linking strategy in partnership with SEO, product, and engineering teams.
• Develop a system for monitoring changes to SEO functionality and alert relevant teams to protect SEO traffic.
• Execute Technical SEO audits and monitor Core Web Vitals and overall site health continuously.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in Technical SEO preferred; 5+ years with additional experience in Engineering, Product, Machine Learning, or Information Retrieval is acceptable.
• Preferred experience working on a global enterprise eCommerce website(s).
• Expertise utilizing Botify, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console.
• Extensive knowledge of Technical SEO facets: log file analysis, crawling, rendering, indexing, performance optimization, XML Sitemaps, Structured Data Markup, etc.
• Deep understanding of Google's guidelines and spam policies.
• Knowledge of HTML, XML, JSON-LD, JavaScript, Lazy-Load, and Single Page Application environments.
• Preferred experience with International SEO in multiple countries and languages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain SEO concepts clearly.
• Strong analytical skills with experience turning data into actionable insights.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Nice to Have

• Experience working on a global enterprise eCommerce website(s).
• Experience with Machine Learning and Information Retrieval.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in Technical SEO or related fields.
