Senior UI/UX Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Leads the design process from concept to delivery, conducting extensive user research, developing user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes, and ensuring user needs and business requirements are met.
• Establishes and maintains design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across products, and collaborates closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to advocate for user-centered design.
• Stays ahead of the latest industry trends, drives continuous improvement in user experience, and contributes significantly to overall product strategy.
• Analyzes user data, conducts usability testing, and translates insights into actionable design improvements, applying human-centered design (HCD) principles throughout the process.
• Mentors and provides guidance to mid-level and Junior UI/UX Specialists, fostering their professional development and expertise, and demonstrates a deep understanding of human factors engineering (HFE) principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
• 9+ years of experience with 5+ in a position-specific relevant role.
• Expertise in creating user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Proficiency in UI/UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
• Experience in conducting user research and usability testing.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into effective design solutions.
• Significant experience (typically 7+ years) in UI/UX design.
• Strong understanding of human-computer interaction (HCI) principles and human factors engineering (HFE) considerations.
• Experience with accessibility guidelines and standards (e.g., WCAG).
• Must have an active/current Secret security clearance.

Nice to Have

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
• Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with data visualization, animation, and motion design.
• Experience with design systems management tools.
• Experience in contributing to product strategy and driving continuous improvement in user experience.
• Experience with internationalization and localization.
• Deep understanding of human-centered design (HCD) methodologies and their application.
• Familiarity with emerging UI/UX technologies such as AR, VR, and VUI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field (or equivalent experience).
