About the Role

The SEO Specialist II is responsible for delivering Dealer.com's Premium level of Search Engine Optimization services to help achieve subscribers' goals. This includes analyzing website performance data, evaluating clients' websites, and determining actions to improve site performance. The role involves collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders, acting as the client point-of-contact for organic search questions, and implementing SEO strategies to enhance website visibility and performance. This is a fully remote position with some in-person attendance required for those living near Burlington, VT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients via monthly calls to review website performance, on- and off-site optimizations, work completed, and proactive ongoing organic strategy.
  • Collaborate with client and internal stakeholders on additional strategies to help the client achieve their goals, acting as a consultant for the client's online search presence.
  • Act as SEO account manager, providing clients with process, operational, and technical expertise, and answering concerns via call or email.
  • Complete search engine related requests such as market and competitive research, webpage optimization, Google Business Profile optimization, and analytics analysis on demand.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Copywriters, Performance Managers, Campaign Coordinators, Social Coordinators) on digital marketing strategies.
  • Improve client site performance and KPIs using white hat SEO tactics.
  • Implement strategic content strategies based on site performance and dealer needs, optimizing custom pages and content.
  • Analyze website performance metrics (organic visits, visitors, form submissions, conversion rate, bounce rate, keyword rankings) using Dealer.com's analytics platform.
  • Create and present client-facing reports that articulate the value of the SEO program, including key metrics, strategies, challenges, opportunities, and work completed.
  • Utilize third-party tools like Copyscape, Majestic SEO, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Google Trends, and Moz Pro to identify site opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot negative trends in key performance indicators and search engine visibility, determining causes and taking corrective actions.
  • Increase SEO knowledge through team knowledge share sessions, office hours, and continuing education.
  • Proactively address implications of algorithm and search results page changes to clients.
  • Provide advice, mentoring, and training for newer SEO team members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field, or a different combination such as a degree/certification beyond HS and up to 1 year of experience, or 5 years' experience in a related field.
  • Understanding of how search algorithms work.
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization tactics.
  • Strong customer service and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed, driven, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML.
  • Willingness to train in search engine optimization.

Nice to Have

  • Demonstrable experience creating and executing SEO campaigns.
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools like Google Analytics.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and broad website concepts.
  • Previous client relationship and account management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications
