About the Role

Bryant University seeks a highly creative and strategic Social and Digital Media Specialist to join its dynamic Marketing and Communications team. Reporting to the Director of Communication and Brand Strategy and working closely with the Assistant Director of Social Media and Multimedia Producer, this role involves collaborating, ideating, planning, producing, and publishing social-first multimedia content that elevates Bryant's brand across all digital channels. The position is a key contributor to the University's digital storytelling efforts, producing short-form video and social media content that drives engagement and visibility in social media and website channels. The role also supports broader brand campaigns across web, enrollment, advancement, and presidential platforms, within a university recognized for its high student outcomes and strategic vision through Vision 2030.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Assistant Director of Social Media and the Multimedia Producer to align content with brand priorities, institutional strategy, and campaign messaging.
  • Develop and execute engaging, high-quality multimedia content — including vertical video, event and campus photography, and graphics — for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Assist with planning and managing the end-to-end video production process, including storyboarding, scripting, filming, interviewing, and editing.
  • Translate strategic goals into compelling social content supporting enrollment marketing, alumni engagement, internal communications, and brand storytelling.
  • Track evolving platform trends and assess their alignment with Bryant's brand, sharing insights to inform future content strategies.
  • Maintain and organize digital assets on shared servers.
  • Provide content creation support for university-wide events such as Commencement, admissions events, major speaker visits, and other milestones.
  • Work with student content creators, providing direction and support for student-centered content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience producing high-quality multimedia content for digital platforms.
  • Deep familiarity with social media platforms, best practices, and native editing tools.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud tools, especially Premiere Pro and Photoshop, and Canva.
  • Experience using professional camera equipment, audio recording devices, and smartphones for video production.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills with an eye for visual narrative and audience engagement.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills for captioning, scripting, and metadata creation.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Sprinklr) and platform-specific analytics dashboards.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and accessibility best practices in digital content.
  • Experience working collaboratively with team members and internal stakeholders, as well as independently.
  • Passion for innovation, audience engagement, and continuous learning in multimedia storytelling including new AI tools.

Nice to Have

  • Experience creating content for institutional campaigns and university events.
  • Familiarity with scripting and editing for short-form video content.
  • Experience working with student content creators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in digital media, communications, marketing, or a related field.
