About the Role

The Social Media & Content Specialist at Mt. Bachelor plays a key role in storytelling, brand-building, growth, and engagement through digital channels. This position involves developing social media strategies, creating compelling content, capturing and editing photo and video assets, writing copy, managing creators, and engaging with the online community. The role requires a passion for mountain culture, visual storytelling, strong writing skills, and the ability to adapt content across multiple platforms in real-time. It supports the company's mission to deliver memorable experiences and foster a fun, inspiring culture that values outdoor adventure and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Mt. Bachelor's social media strategy with a focus on channel growth, engagement, and diverse content.
  • Create, publish, and manage engaging content across all social media channels including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Plan, capture, and edit photos and videos using iPhone and other equipment for digital and social platforms.
  • Write creative and concise captions and posts that reflect Mt. Bachelor's voice and tone.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments/messages, and engage with the community in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with marketing, events, guest services, and mountain operations teams to tell authentic stories.
  • Develop and manage influencer and creator strategies.
  • Create and maintain a social media content calendar aligned with campaigns, promotions, and seasonal events.
  • Analyze performance data to inform strategy decisions.
  • Support brand partners through content integration and exposure on digital platforms.
  • Assist with branded content shoots, including shooting video b-roll for media needs.
  • Oversee Mt. Bachelor's photo and video equipment, including storage and maintenance.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience managing social media for a brand or agency.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in iPhone photography, videography, and editing.
  • Basic understanding or 1 year of experience in shooting and editing with DSLR cameras.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Excellent writing, grammar, and storytelling skills.
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube) and content performance.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to shoot and edit content quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Deadline-driven with excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must be at least a strong intermediate skier/snowboarder and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.
  • Passion for outdoor adventure, snow sports, and the Central Oregon lifestyle.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in an outdoor recreation environment.
  • Knowledge of Mt. Bachelor and skiing/riding experience there.
  • Familiarity with social analytics tools such as Meta Business Suite or Sprout Social.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21+.
