About the Role

The Social Media and Content Marketing Specialist manages the execution of MSC's social media strategy to attract, engage, and retain customers while enhancing brand equity. The role blends content marketing strategy with social innovation leveraging performance insights, evolving trends, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver value across external and internal audiences. This role also serves as MSC's internal Social Media Subject Matter Expert (SME), guiding best practices across departments and championing initiatives such as HR content strategy and employee advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the integrated content calendar across platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram), tailoring content and creative to platform-specific best practices and audience behaviors.
  • Maintain functional expertise in native platforms (Meta Business Suite, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) to post, schedule, and monitor content in real-time.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to execute high-impact campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn, and Reddit that support brand, marketing, and organizational priorities.
  • Manage and optimize paid social campaigns, including audience targeting, creative strategy, budget allocation, and performance analysis, primarily via Meta Business Suite.
  • Support and lead social-first campaigns, including LinkedIn Employee Advocacy and internal HR initiatives, enabling broader brand amplification through team participation.
  • Identify new opportunities across social (short-form video, podcasts, influencer/employee partnerships, emerging tools) and test new formats for reach and relevance.
  • Actively engage in trend monitoring, competitor analysis, and social listening to stay ahead of content trends and digital conversations.
  • Partner with agency teams for content publishing, community management, and creative alignment.
  • Represent and protect MSC's brand identity in all outbound messaging and community interactions.
  • Coach internal teams, including Marketing, Talent Acquisition, and HR, on social best practices, campaign amplification, and personal brand building.
  • Encourage cross-departmental collaboration to align messaging and identify key business moments suitable for social amplification.
  • Track content performance, monitor KPIs, and analyze platform insights to refine strategies and surface new opportunities.
  • Apply social listening to gather feedback and inform future campaign development.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and continuously evolve tactics to meet the changing digital landscape.
  • Foster the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business or equivalent experience.
  • Three years of business experience with a minimum of one year in a marketing function.
  • Structured project / program management experience.
  • Marketing experience with social media or digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms including Meta Business Suite, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on proofreading and grammar.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Results-driven, highly motivated individual who can coordinate cross-functionally to desired results.

Nice to Have

  • Manufacturing or eCommerce retail experience.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams to execute go-to-market sales and marketing plans that impact sales growth.
  • Familiarity with Reddit, TikTok, and short-form content.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • Position requires up to 10% travel.
  • Access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (ITAR) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) may be required.
