About the Role

The Social Media Assistant position is responsible for producing educational and inspirational content for our social media channels. This position works closely with the Social Media Supervisor to plan, develop, and execute strategic content across The Container Store's owned social media channels. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.

Key Responsibilities

Create engaging, informative, authentic, and on-brand content for all platforms including video, images, and copywriting.
Produce short-form, on-trend video content for TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Bring forward creative ideas that tap into relevant trends in a way that aligns with our brand.
Actively monitor and engage with our social media communities, flagging opportunities for influencer gifting or partnerships to the appropriate team members.
Source user-generated content (UGC) and secure creator approvals for brand use, as well as work with our Brand Ambassador and Trade teams to highlight partner content.
Communicate in our brand voice with a deep understanding and passion for The Container Store products, services and expertise.
Stay current on social media trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Collaborate with the integrated marketing team to ensure alignment with product launches, campaigns, and storytelling priorities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or relevant industry experience.
1-3 years of experience developing and executing social media content across multiple platforms.
Strong knowledge of major social media platforms (especially TikTok and Instagram) and their features.
Passion for social and cultural trends.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva Pro a plus.
Ability to develop creative concepts and bring them to life.
Skills in visual storytelling, videography, video editing, copywriting, and photography; graphic design experience is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compelling online portfolio showcasing creative versatility, conceptual thinking, and high-quality execution.
Ability to visit The Container Store locations for content gathering as needed.
Collaborative team player open to feedback and able to adapt work accordingly.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area on a hybrid schedule.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs.
Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry.
