About the Role

The Social Media Community Analyst at Applebee's is responsible for managing and enhancing the brand's digital presence across social platforms. Based in Pasadena, California, the role involves executing social media strategies, engaging with online communities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive brand awareness and engagement for one of the world's largest restaurant companies under Dine Brands Global, Inc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the in-house social lead to develop and implement a social media community management strategy.
  • Conduct daily community management checks (at least 3-5 times per day), interacting with guests and responding to inquiries.
  • Develop real-time engagement strategies to connect with followers, monitor trends, and foster a vibrant community.
  • Execute the global social calendar and platform positioning, ensuring consistent and engaging presence through commenting and potential posting.
  • Bring Applebee's brand voice to life across all social media platforms by writing, editing, and managing outward-facing communications.
  • Support brand campaigns by executing social media plans and collaborating with cross-functional teams and agencies.
  • Identify emerging online trends and seize opportunities for brand engagement, staying updated on platform changes and best practices.
  • Manage relationships with content creators and execute content creator strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Communications team and agency partners to monitor social platforms and report on potential issues.
  • Work with social agency partners and marketing teams to maintain consistent messaging and maximize campaign impact.
  • Utilize analytics tools to monitor and analyze social media community performance and provide insights for strategy optimization.
  • Work closely with marketing, PR, guest relations, operations, and other departments to ensure cohesive brand communication and amplification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of proven experience as a Social Media Community Analyst or similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Sprinklr, Meltwater, Google Analytics).
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Final Cut Pro).
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, SNAP, and LinkedIn.
  • Understanding of SEO principles to enhance content visibility.
  • Experience working with creative agency partners, including media buying agencies.
  • Organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Dependability, initiative, and adaptability.
  • Willingness to travel and work after-hours or on weekends as needed.
  • Self-starter with the ability to execute ideas from start to finish.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with social listening and trendsetting.
  • Experience with video editing tools like Final Cut Pro.
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Experience working with creative and media buying agencies.
  • Creative and collaborative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas.
