About the Role

We're looking for a creative and driven social media coordinator to join our growing advertising operations social media team at Hearst Newspapers. You'll be focused on fulfilling content requests (often referred to as "sponsored" or "co-branded" posts) from our advertisers on 6+ publisher social profiles. Other key responsibilities include supporting paid and organic strategists with their current agency clients. This role offers an opportunity to fine-tune both organic and paid social media skills while working with nationally recognized media brands and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own advertiser's content request fulfillment process from start to finish, including ensuring asset provision, writing/editing social post copy, modifying links/visuals, obtaining editorial and client approval, and publishing on publisher's social profiles.
  • Manage boosting budgets for sponsored content, including building target audiences, pacing spend, and sharing reporting on results if requested.
  • Support the social media team with agency client requests such as copywriting, organizing content assets, and setting up paid social media audiences and campaign structures.
  • Manage several publisher's promotional-focused social media profiles by reviewing/responding to comments and ensuring daily content posting through manual or automated means.

Requirements

  • 1 year of proven experience in creating and executing social media content and paid campaign management from start to finish.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, advertising, or related field.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with editorial teams.
  • Experience creating posts on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn; Twitter and other social channels are a plus.
  • Experience using Facebook Ads Manager and other paid social media tools.
  • Ability to perform light design work, typically in Canva.
  • Self-starter with the ability to execute quickly, brainstorm, and communicate with clients and sellers.
  • Content marketing and SEO writing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, advertising, or related field.
