Job Description

About the Role

The Social Media Intern supports the Minnesota Wild's digital presence by assisting with content creation, scheduling, and daily maintenance for minor social media accounts such as Wild on 7th, Nordy, and MN Wild Pup. This role also represents the brand at community events, foundation initiatives, and game nights, capturing engaging moments that connect with fans across platforms. By contributing to consistent and on-brand content, the intern helps strengthen fan engagement and reinforces the organization's community-focused mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend a variety of events to support community engagement and brand activation initiatives, including community events, foundation events, player hospital visits, pregame parties, and home games as needed.
  • Schedule and post content for minor social media accounts to ensure timely and consistent engagement, including Wild Gives Back, MN Wild Pup, Wild on 7th, and Hockey Day Minnesota as needed.
  • Perform daily maintenance on minor social media accounts to maintain accuracy and brand consistency.
  • Perform tasks and publish content on wild.com and within the Official Wild App to maintain accuracy and brand consistency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Film/Digital Cinematography, Creative Writing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of social media platforms (X, Facebook, and Instagram specifically required).
  • Experience capturing engaging content (camera knowledge, including iPhone videos).
  • Experience editing photo/video content (using Premier Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom).
  • Experience with social media scheduling services (Sprout Social and/or Hootsuite preferred).
  • Experience with project management system (Wrike preferred).
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for games and events.
  • Physical ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, lift, grasp, etc., including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Personal attributes such as being detail-oriented, organized, enthusiastic to learn, positive attitude, strategic mindset, and ability to take initiative with little direction.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with social media scheduling services such as Sprout Social and/or Hootsuite.
  • Experience with project management system like Wrike.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
