The role of Social Media Manager for the Motion business area involves strategic leadership, planning, and execution of end-to-end social media initiatives to ensure impact, consistency, and alignment with business goals. The position aims to strengthen ABB Motion's online presence, elevate executive profiles, and produce compelling social media stories to stand out in feeds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, oversee and implement social media content programs for ABB Motion's business area, including elevating executive profiles and ensuring alignment with ABB positioning and social media guidelines.
  • Produce, manage, optimize and curate content (including reels, stories, shorts, live streams etc.) on social media channels such as LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.
  • Collaborate with, train and coach content creators, influencers and advocates to design, execute and manage social media campaigns to drive engagement and growth.
  • Develop a framework for impactful social media content creation and distribution, providing guidance and conducting training sessions for team members.
  • Keep up to date with latest trends and integrate them into content programs proactively, driving innovation in social media as part of a multi-channel approach.
  • Assess potential new platforms, establish and manage new channels to enhance social media presence and influence.
  • Manage contract agreements for social media technology and tools, and oversee regional social media platforms ensuring alignment with strategy.
  • Work with line manager on social media budget and ensure delivery within budget and timelines.
  • Analyze social media performance metrics regularly, adjust tactics to improve results, and provide analytics and insights to track performance against best-in-class standards.
  • Implement SEO tactics across social media channels to enhance visibility and search rankings.
  • Manage and schedule organic and paid campaigns, utilizing relevant tools to maximize reach and effectiveness.
  • Maintain and update webpages relevant to the Motion Business Area.
  • Lead strategy on utilizing advocacy platforms to amplify ABB Motion's presence responsibly.
  • Identify and collaborate with influencers and content creators to design and execute social media campaigns.
  • Coordinate quarterly community of practice meetings with social media and digital communications managers at ABB Motion.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in communications, marketing, social media, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of over 5 years in a large corporation managing social media plans within set budgets.
  • Hands-on experience in content creation, tool management, training, and analyzing performance data to optimize strategy.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft compelling content tailored to different social media platforms, especially LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.
  • Native English-speaking proficiency with clear and precise communication.
  • Experience with producing video content suitable for social media and navigating trends to translate them into B2B content.
  • Strong understanding of platform algorithms, current trends, and how to combine paid and organic content to drive results.
  • Analytical skills to interpret metrics and generate meaningful insights.
  • Experience with GEO & SEO and integrating these into social media strategies.
  • Organizational skills, accountability, and ability to work with a global and diverse team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with social media tools and technologies.
  • Familiarity with influencer and advocacy platform strategies.
  • Experience in B2B social media campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant fields.

Benefits & Perks

  • Expected annual salary between $116,000 and $215,000, with eligibility for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
