About the Role

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in shaping how CK-12 connects with its audience through engaging and impactful video content. You will be responsible for creating dynamic videos tailored for Instagram Reels, Tiktok, paid ads, and other digital platforms to promote our educational mission. The ideal candidate will be able to think big, create, execute and develop content across different social media channels to generate advocacy and engagement for students. This individual will actively seek to raise the bar for creative development and execution within the social media space. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic blend of content creator, storyteller, and influencer coordinator. Someone who can build from the ground up, source and curate compelling content, take an agile, resourceful approach, and collaborate effectively with subject-matter experts when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Produce compelling short-form video content, including Instagram Reels, Tiktok, Youtube videos.
Film and edit videos with CK-12's branding and goals.
Understand the Flexi product deeply and create content to map various aspects of Flexi to take advantage of current social media trends.
Must love being on camera and performing skits.
Stay updated on the latest trends in social media, video production, and digital advertising to create content that resonates with students.
Collaborate closely with the marketing and content teams to align video content with campaign goals and brand messaging.
Manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of polished videos.
Incorporate analytics and performance feedback to refine video strategies and improve engagement metrics.
Manage influencers in India and execute creative campaigns.

Requirements

Proficiency in spoken and written Hindi to effectively collaborate with our India-based team and regional influencers.
Proven experience in creating social media videos, with a strong portfolio showcasing Instagram Reels and/or paid advertising content.
Interest in AI and Edtech.
Proficiency in a video editor like InShot or Capcut.
Knowledge of trends and algorithms specific to Instagram and other social media platforms.
Ability to translate complex concepts into visually engaging, humorous content.
Strong storytelling skills and a creative mindset.
Organizational skills and excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Great graphic design skills (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva) are a plus.
Experience working in educational content or nonprofit sectors is preferred but not required.
Ability to perform work onsite Monday-Wednesday in Menlo Park, remote Thursday and Friday.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.

Nice to Have

Graphic design skills (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva).
Experience working in educational content or nonprofit sectors.

Qualifications

Proven experience in creating social media videos with a strong portfolio.
Proficiency in Hindi.
Experience with video editing tools like InShot or Capcut.
Graphic design skills (preferred).
