About the Role

The Social Media Specialist at Apptio, an IBM company, is responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, engage audiences, and drive business growth. The role involves managing and growing social media presence across various platforms, supporting regional and global initiatives, and collaborating with a high-performing digital marketing team to shape and amplify the company's brand in the digital space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms including LinkedIn, Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram/Reels, and YouTube.
  • Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation.
  • Copy edit and proofread social media copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Drive employee advocacy through initiatives such as a weekly newsletter, expanding platform reach, and orchestrating engaging contests.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions on social media channels promptly and professionally.
  • Analyze social media performance metrics and provide regular reports with recommendations for improvements.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in social media marketing and incorporate them into strategies.
  • Collaborate with the content team to ensure messaging consistency across all platforms.
  • Assist in creating visual content such as graphics, images, and videos to complement social media posts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience managing social media platforms.
  • Understanding of social media analytics and ability to interpret results to improve strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Creative thinker capable of generating innovative ideas and campaigns.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of social media and employee advocacy management tools (e.g., Marketo, Sprinklr, EveryoneSocial).
  • Understanding of reporting best practices and ability to present data in a digestible format.
  • Effective communication skills with a positive attitude and cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Comfortable with change, growth, and adapting to evolving ideas and priorities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
