As a powerhouse in the digital media landscape, Flighthouse leverages its extensive network on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to amplify and define culture. Our influencer marketing team is crucial in forging connections that resonate deeply with our audiences, ensuring that every campaign we execute not only reaches but also engages and inspires millions. The Social Media Specialist role involves overseeing and expanding our owned and operated network of music and pop culture-themed Instagram pages, defining voice and content strategy, and driving engagement and follower growth at the intersection of creativity, strategy, and internet culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day programming and long-term strategy for Flighthouse's owned & operated music and pop culture Instagram pages.
  • Maintain a distinct, authentic voice for each page while aligning with the overarching Flighthouse brand and campaign goals.
  • Build and manage content calendars informed by cultural trends, platform data, and campaign priorities.
  • Identify and onboard new fan pages for activation when needed, and oversee their tone and performance during campaigns.
  • Direct the creation and curation of timely, high-impact memes, music content, and pop culture visuals.
  • Set creative standards across the network, ensuring high meme fluency, humor, and contextual relevance.
  • Collaborate with the music marketing team to develop and execute creative social campaigns through the network.
  • Translate client briefs into native content formats that feel organic, entertaining, and shareable.
  • Oversee all network deliverables and ensure that branded and music-related content meets campaign goals and platform best practices.
  • Monitor performance across all network pages, using insights to refine creative and posting strategy.
  • Stay ahead of platform trends, meme formats, and algorithm shifts to evolve the network's presence and output.
  • Respond to community engagement (comments, DMs) to maintain an authentic voice and follower connection where applicable.
  • Own and report on weekly performance metrics (growth, engagement, reach) across the network.
  • Deliver post-campaign performance recaps with insights and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for A/B testing content formats or posting cadences to optimize performance.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in meme culture, internet trends, and Gen Z humor.
  • Proven experience managing or growing high-performing social accounts, preferably in music or entertainment.
  • Strong creative instincts with the ability to turn briefs into compelling, viral content.
  • Proficient in tools like Canva, CapCut, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity with music fandoms, TikTok culture, and Instagram meme subcultures.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with managing or growing social media accounts in the music or entertainment industry.
  • Additional familiarity with platform-specific trends and content creation tools.

Qualifications

  • Experience with social media management and content creation tools.
  • Knowledge of internet culture, memes, and Gen Z humor.

Benefits & Perks

  • Hourly pay rate of $18.00-$21.00 USD, determined based on experience and fit.
