About the Role

The Social Media Specialist (Men's Basketball) at Georgia Tech is responsible for building brand identification and the reputation of Georgia Tech by planning, implementing, and monitoring social media communications. The role involves engaging with target demographics, creating original content, and managing social media platforms to promote the Institute's athletic programs and institutional values.

Key Responsibilities

Write original posts and create original content including video and graphics that optimizes engagement objectives
Oversee work of student assistants, edit their writing, video, and other content, determine appropriateness and post to appropriate media platforms
Monitor social conversations and comments on all platforms, responding as appropriate
Evaluate the impact and engagement of target audiences and assist in determining the creation of future content
Track and analyze social media influence measurements and audience examination
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or equivalent combination of education and experience
Two to three years of job related experience
Proficiency in handling customer relations issues and engaging with a variety of different people and situations
Knowledge of social media platforms, management tools and analytics, video editing and production, graphic design, and strong writing skills

Nice to Have

Prior customer service experience

Qualifications

Educational Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or equivalent
Experience: Two to three years of relevant experience
